While campaigning in western Pennsylvania, Joe missed 9 vote including a vote to research and develop more environmentally friendly vehicles.

Joe also missed the vote on A Child is Missing Alert and Recovery Center Act. This Act allows the Attorney General to make annual grants to the center to promote the quick recovery of a missing child.
July 20, 2009:
Joe missed 3 votes on the 20th in order to campaign in Philadelphia. One of those votes was to pass the New Frontier Congressional Gold Medal Act to honor America's heroes.
